About Louie’s Wine Dive

Great Wine. Great Food. No Pretension.

Louie’s Wine Dive was never really about the word dive. It was about creating a place where great wine, thoughtful food and good people could come together without any of the usual rules.

Louie’s began in 2009 in the Waldo neighborhood of Kansas City.  Over time, Louie’s became known for its eclectic wine selection, fresh culinary, lively atmosphere and, most importantly, the people who made it feel like home.

Today, Louie’s has grown, but the philosophy remains remarkably simple: wine should be fun, food should be memorable and everyone should feel welcome.

Our wine program is built around discovery rather than intimidation. From familiar favorites to unexpected finds, our team loves helping guests find something new to love. We believe wine is meant to be shared, talked about and enjoyed—not studied for a test. Our rotating selections, wine events and Wine Club are all designed to make great wine more approachable and a little more fun.

Our food follows the same philosophy. We focus on fresh ingredients, thoughtful preparation and dishes that pair beautifully with what is in your glass. Whether you're stopping in for a glass of wine and a bite at the bar, settling in for dinner with friends or celebrating something special, Louie's is designed to fit the moment.

And Then Came Louie's Reserve

As Louie's has evolved, so have our guests.

Over the years, we heard the same thing again and again: "Louie's doesn't really feel like a dive."

We took that as a compliment.

That idea became the inspiration for Louie's Reserve, the next generation of the Louie's experience. Located in Kansas City's Country Club Plaza, Louie's Reserve brings the spirit and personality of Louie's into a more polished setting—with an expanded wine program, handmade pastas, a broader selection of steaks and a culinary experience designed for lingering over dinner and a great bottle of wine.

It's a little more refined. A little more grown up. But it is still unmistakably Louie's.

Because at the end of the day, Louie's has never been about being fancy or fitting into a category.

It's about great wine, great food and even better company.
